Meet the Analyst – Chris Winters

Name: Chris Winters

Title: Search Engine Optimization, Lead

How long have you been strategizing/analyzing/ producing straight fire at Net Conversion?

I think it was July last year, so it’s been about 8 months.

What does a typical day at work look like for you?

On a typical day, I’ll usually have a few client meetings, then spend some time working with tools like ahrefs and SEMRush for keyword research and strategy. I also spend a fair amount of time on reporting, putting presentations together, editing blog posts, and just generally making sure everything’s running smoothly and we’re seeing good numbers.

What is your favorite moment at Net Conversion so far?

Being picked for Net Con Proud is a huge moment for me. We’re also getting some fantastic SEO results for our clients right now so I feel like our hard work is paying off and that makes me feel really, really good.

What’s something not many people know about you?

I was an Easter Bunny mascot at a pro soccer game during kids’ night. They bussed in thousands of kids who were jazzed to see the Easter Bunny and they would run up to high-five me or smile and wave. It’s the closest thing I’ve ever felt to being a legit rockstar. It was super exhausting though, I almost passed out about halfway through. It’s hot in those suits!

If you were coming out onto a stage, what would your entrance theme song be?

Anything by Vince Staples.

Who at NC inspires you the most?

David Bressler. The guy is brilliant. He’s upped my game when it comes to data-driven SEO for sure.

If you could live in a historical period, would you? If so, which one?

I absolutely would, I’m a huge history buff. I’d love to visit the middle ages. I’d miss modern plumbing but it would be very interesting.

If you were reincarnated as an animal, what would you choose and why?

Honey Badger, because the honey badger don’t care.

What’s one thing you are unbeatable at?

Trivia. I have a silly brain that will forget important things immediately but useless facts and figures seem to stick in there forever.

If you had to sing karaoke right now, which song would you pick?

Well, karaoke should be banned. But if I had to, probably “I’ve Got Friends in Low Places by Garth Brooks”. And I’m not even a modern country fan, but that song was made for karaoke.

What brings you the most joy?

When my wife falls asleep on the couch next to me with one of our cats (Horton, Bubbles, or Cathulu) on her lap.

What’s something new or interesting you’ve learned recently?

I’ve been digging into AI like ChatGPT and how it will affect SEO and the world in general. Some very interesting things are happening right now.

Smooth or Crunchy peanut butter?

Almond butter.

What is the most useful productivity hack you have?

Evernote! You can save anything interesting you come across and it’s easily searchable and shareable.

Anything else you want your fans to know?

Be kind. My Mom taught me that a smile or a kind word may not seem like much, but sometimes it makes a big difference for people who are going through a rough time. We only live once, let’s try to make the world a better place for each other while we’re here.
