Name: Brandon Orr
Title: Analytics Manager
How long have you been a camper here at Net Conversion?
I am 2 weeks short of reaching my 2nd year anniversary!
What’s your favorite thing about working here?
My favorite thing about working here is that it’s a true choose-your-own-adventure. At NC, there’s no preset, one-way path to success. You’re given the space and tools to grow, and they help you along the way.
What is your Pod’s (team’s) name?
Hodgepod – that was actually the name that was picked before I joined the team, and we stuck with it.
What’s the most ridiculous fact you know?
I have to fact-check this, but I heard that lemons are not naturally occurring. Oranges and limes are natural, but humans made/modified lemons. So, if you think about it, life did not give us lemons; we gave lemons life.
If you had to be a kitchen appliance, what would you be and why?
I would be a KitchenAid stand mixer. I can make bread and cake; I can do it all. But also, I’m clunky and hard to move.
What’s your favorite song(s)?
Mule Skinner Blue by Dolly Parton + Froot by Marina
If you won the lottery, what’s the first thing you’d buy?
A French Horn – I played in middle school, high school, and college. I somehow never owned my own because the schools always provided them.

If you could instantly become an expert in any skill or field, what would it be and why?
I’ve always wanted to be better at languages, so probably linguistics.
Coffee or tea?
Tea – English Breakfast or Earl Grey in the morning and Mint in the afternoon.
Would you rather fight a hundred duck-sized horses or one horse-sized duck?
One horse-sized duck, I’d only have to keep an eye on one instead of losing sight of one hundred.
Favorite candle scent?
Frankincense – I’m not a fan of sweet/sugary smells
What’s your most embarrassing childhood memory?
At the city park pool, I was underwater when they called for adult swimming only. Everyone got out, but I didn’t notice. The whole pool watched me as I ran over to the diving board to jump back in. I was the only one in the water, and eventually, the lifeguards all went after me to get me out. I was really embarrassed when I realized why I was the only one.
Super strength or ability to fly?
Ability to fly. Not just to go somewhere but because the act of flying seems really cool.
What’s a book or movie that completely changed your perspective on something?
The book “How Google Works” by Eric Schmidt & Jonathan Rosenberg. It taught me a lot about how to be a better manager.
Any last words/thoughts?
“Live long and prosper”
-Spock, Star Trek
