Name: Sheyanne Navarro
Title: Lead Administrator
How long have you been a camper here at Net Conversion?
I have been here just over 4 and a half years.
How did you hear about this position?
Emily (our Senior HR Manager) was my neighbor way back when. I didn’t realize this at the time, but I also knew Ashley (our Director of Operations) through my husband, yet I didn’t know she worked at Net Conversion. Emily posted on Facebook about an open position, and I RUSHED to apply. It all worked out perfectly, and Ashley ended up being my manager.
Tell us about your journey with NC.
I think the evolution has been really cool and organic. I started as an Admin Assistant. 4-5 months after starting, covid hit. Because of that, I was able to take on more responsibilities, which led me to my position today.
What’s your favorite memory from your time here?
This was a funny moment – There was one time when my manager and I showed up to our annual holiday party wearing the same dress. I feel like we have different styles yet managed to show up in the same dress. We saw each other and just started laughing. We were twins all night.
What’s one skill or hobby you’ve always wanted to learn but haven’t had the chance to yet?
*So fast* Calligraphy! I’ve gotten books on how to do it, and it’s so hard but so mesmerizing to watch.
What is the biggest thing you’ve crossed off your bucket list?
I’ve been to Machu Picchu about 7-8 years ago. We were there for a week; it was a really cool trip.
If you could swap job roles with anyone in the company for a day, who would it be and why?
I think it would be the Brand Team. The work they do is so creative and fun – design, social media, and planning events.
What’s your most irrational fear?
Public speaking is a true fear. My most irrational one would be Trypophobia.
“Trypophobia is an aversion or repulsion to objects like honeycombs and sponges that have repetitive patterns or clusters of small holes.”
Favorite food?
Carbs – bread or pasta or anything really. I like bread, any bread, a lot.
Hands down favorite book you’ve read
The Harry Potter series, definitely; I read them when I was young. Recent books, I’d say The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah.
Pancakes or waffles?
Pancakes, for sure, with some butter and syrup.
Would you rather always have to sneeze but not be able to or have something stuck in your eye for an entire year?
Always have to sneeze – having something in your eye is terrible – I don’t think I can do that for a whole year.
What’s your favorite desk decoration?
I feel like it’s cliche but the picture of my family, my succulent being a close second.
Any last words/advice?
Definitely not advice, hmmm – I really like this quote:
“Live in the sunshine, swim the sea, and drink the wild air.” ― Ralph Waldo Emerson
